Coffee shop gift card holder - by Vicky Alberto

I am sharing a fun card I made using all of the scraps left over from projects I have created for Blue Fern since February. Can you spot the collections? Homespun, Heartland, Remnants, Wanderlust, Amber & Apricot.

Inside is a coffee shop gift card holder with Happy Accident collection ephemera.

On the front I used Blue Fern seedlings on the love letter chipboard, Homespun adhesive shapes and some pretty flowers too.  Everything on this project is Blue Fern product!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

The Best Moments Panel

Hello all, it's Aida from @aidaville  ..... can you believe it's already April ? The Blue Fern Studios Blog is where pretty things get posted and I am so glad you are back ! Today I have a panel using pops of red from the florals and I LOVE how they add brightness to this piece.

Here are the products I used :
Blue Fern Studios supplies :
Printed Chipboard - Wanderlust  |  Happy Accident
Papers :
Happy Accident #2 - Faux  |  Damsel
Remnants -  Callaway  |   Devonshire  |   Wesfield
Blue Fern Florals
Others :
Collage Medium, Acrylic Paints, Water Soluble Crayons, Texture Paste,
White Gesso, small assorted leaf die-cuts. metal book corners and brads.

I started with a frame shape cut out from the Remnants paper with an external measurement of  height 7" and 5" at the top/bottom. A thin foam backing was glued under the frame. Distress the edges with a sharp craft knife.

Next I trimmed another paper 8" x 6" (or slightly larger than the frame) and adhered the frame to the center. This is the base of the panel and I started working at adding all the elements.

"The Best Moments" is a title you can substitute with any tag you have in your supplies.

I found a metal embellishment that fitted over the title and added a brad to match.

The pops of red from the flowers add such a pretty accent to the panel !

Add chipboard embellishments for dimension.

Thank you for dropping by, remember to come back for more gorgeous work from the Blue Fern Studios Team, see you soon !

Secret Book Box

Hi and welcome to the Blue Fern Studios blog.
In my previous blog post  I shared two cards made with the Remnants collection.
I love this collection so much that I made another project with them.
This time I made a secret book box.

I had never made a secret book box before so I watched a few tutorials and pictures
and made one myself  from white chipboard sheets.
The box measures about 4,7 x 6,2 x 1,5 inches (= 12 x 16 x 4 cm).

I colored the entire book box with grey ink.

Then I glued Remnants papers on the in- and outside of the box.

I decorated the box with chipboards. These are brown colored and I also added a touch of
copper wax to give them a nice shine.
Furthermore there are some flowers and Remnants chipboard shapes added.

On the inside I glued a free vintage family photo I found on internet.

This book with the secret compartment is a fun way to give a gift to someone or
to hide your own special bits and pieces in.

Here is a list of the products I used:

Patterned Paper:
Remnants collection

Chipboard:
Remnants printed Chipboard shapes
Deja vu border chippie
fancy fob watch

Flowers:

Thanks so much for visiting.
Hugs, Henriƫtte.

Megan's May Inspiration

Hi Everyone!
Today I have a couple of layouts to share plus an OTP project that I had banging around in my head as soon as I saw the HomeSpun Collection, just loved these papers :)

I took an ATC sized craft coloured box and used this as my base, covering the inside and outside with patterned paper, and inked the edges in pinecone ink.

I chose quite a few of the printed chipboard elements and used these in the middle of the box to support all the fussy cut pieces I used throughout.

A birds eye view gives you a perfect view of all those layers I assembled.

Isn't that little sewing machine super cute?!

On the back of the box I used one of the 6x6 patterned pieces and layered another chipboard element on top.

Products Used

Patterned Paper:
HomeSpun
Minis, Tea Time, Crafty, Homegrown, Calling Cards

Printed Chipboard:
HomeSpun

My first of two layouts uses paper from the Wanderlust collection.  The neutral colour scheme of this collection makes it so versatile!

This photo had such lovely memories of fabulous weekend away we had and this particular day was at Mt Cook village, such a beautiful part of our country. :)
On my background I used clear gesso and then applied different sprays.  Once all the layers were dry I mixed 3D gloss gel with glitter to create a paste and applied that to my stencil.  Then I stamped randomly over my page, using white and black ink.

To glitter my chipboard title I painted it a coordinating colour and while still wet sprinkled glitter on it.  It was originally just embossed but just didnt seem to stand out, this worked much better!

To get the best out of my chipboard I used the positive and the negative pieces from the cogs set and cut apart the bits I wanted from the numbers set.  The cogs are just inked with pinecone while the rest is embossed with wheat embossing powder.

Products Used

Patterned Paper:
Wanderlust - Lakeside

Printed Chipboard:
Wanderlust

Glitter:
Russet, Blue Ice

Embossing Powder:
Wheat

Stamps:
Tattered Newsprint

My last project used paper from the Remnants Collection.

On this background I also applied clear gesso and used a two toned spray, and again randomly stamped over the design.  There are a number of layers to this layout - 4! - giving it depth and a bit more interest.

Cannot get enough of those Lillies!! <3
Two layers of chipboard this time, one left black and the other embossed with powder so the two layers looked separate and didnt blend into each other.

I fussy cut around the floral cluster piece of the printed chipboard - to do this I carefully separated the layers that make up the chipboard til I was left two, making it much easier to trim around.

Products Used

Patterned Paper:
Remnants - Beaumont

Printed Chipboard:
Remnants

Stamps:
Tattered Newsprint

Seedlings:
Leaf

Embossing Powder:

Glitter:

Thanks for popping by and having a look this month!  See you next time :)

Mixed Media projects by Tartine Peluche

Hello sweeties!
First, as you see, I'm always on the team! I'm so happy for that!
I left the team last month because I was afraid of being unable to do 3 layouts
per months with all the new change in my life ...
Everything arranged, and I'm here this month with 3 projetcs!! Yeahh, I did it!
I don't know if I'll be able to do it every months but I cross my fingers....
Everything's gonna be alright ... One day at a time...

So, let me introduce you my first project of month.
This is a layout, the others two are canvases...

*FLY*
( Remnants, Courtship Lane)

I started with the side B of Highgate paper as a base for my layout. Then, I tore my second paper, Bourbon Ave, and I placed it on my background in order to let see that the center of the first paper.

My Title ''Fly'' is embossed with Lavender Eggs .
All
the others chipies are embossed with Ivory embossing powder.
At the moment when I designed this layout, BFS was no longer cutting chipboards ...
Happy news!!! They are back!!
Under my picture I placed 3 whole Spring Peony flowers. They are very big, BUT very beautiful!

A piece of lace 5 ( flowers and foliages only ) that I've inked and a
butterfly (from Butterflies Stamp ) stamped on acetate make a beautiful embellishment.

With the petals of Spring Peony I made new flower buds.

From the paper East Plaza ( Courtship Lane ) I cutted a tiny house... She's so cute!
3 Littles flowers cutted in the lace 4

*Enjoy Journey*( In the Mood )

This is my favorite project of the month. I started on the reverse of wooden canvas.
On the background, I stuck a piece of  side B Mellow paper. I used only the center of it.
Then I stamped before gluing pieces of Quilted Page Panel firstly painted with white gesso and partially embossed with Pink Dust embossing powder.
Thereafter, begins the decoration of the canvas.

Several layers ... Starting with the title, Journey is embossed with Ivory embossing powder.
Below the title, a Royal Monarch embossed with two colors : Oatmeal and Pink Dust.
In these two embossing powder we find the same gold shining. Really pretty colors!

I used Lace 10 as a tiny flowers everywhere on my layout. I just added a small bead in the center.
I also used Gold Nugget and Mauve seedlings to add a bling bling style...

The Moody Florals Flowers ... are'nt they lovely?! I used only this flowers everywhere on my layout, like a flowered branch through my deco.

*It's The Little Moments ... *
( In The Mood )

Initially I did'nt want to make this project a canvas, but I had difficulty with the large untouched space. So I decided to cut the top of my paper ( In The Mood, Flirty ) and stick it on a canvas. The two parts are separated by a piece of  white Lace !0.

I really like using quotes on my canvas and the Printed Chipboards of
the Remnants collection are perfect for that.

A small frame from the Ironworks Accents simply painted. Inside, a piece of book paper embossed with Ginger embossing powder and Remnants Collage Stamp. On my flowers, Spring Lilies and Garden Blooms I added Glass seedlings, like little drops of water.

Firstly embossed in Pixie Dust, I decided to emboss this vintage label with Baby pink embossing powder... I don't know what I did for finish with a red side ... but I find it very pretty! LOL

A close up of Mauve seedling and Tranquil Rose & lilies flowers.
